Pastor Albert Johnson, a native of Chicago and a born again Christian, is married to the former Marveen B. Avery. He is a father, grandfather, preacher, Christian educator, and church consultant. He is the Planter/Pastor of the New Genesis Church of Austell, Georgia. He has served as pastor of churches in Seaside, California, Chicago, Illinois, Hammond, Indiana, and Marietta, Georgia.
In his formative years, Pastor Johnson was educated in the public school system of Chicago, Illinois, and later received a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree from Mercer University, Atlanta, Georgia. He has furthered his education at San Jose Bible College, San Jose, California, and through various leadership development training across the country, including Howard University School of Divinity, Washington, DC and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Dallas, Texas.
In addition to serving New Genesis Church, Pastor Johnson presently serves as Community Evangelism Consultant for the Noonday Baptist Association of Marietta, Georgia, and is a member of The Executive Committee of the Georgia Baptist Convention. He has served many years as a consultant to pastors, churches, associations, and state conventions. Pastor Johnson has served in numerous leadership roles on the local, state and national levels of three Baptist denominations, as well as chairman and member of the board of directors of several non-profit organizations.
Pastor Johnson's leadership honors and awards include the Jules Alexander Leadership Award from the Hammond, Indiana Branch of the NAACP for progressive leadership in implementation of community and civil programs and services, and a proclamation from the United States House of Representatives. He also received the Religious Affairs Leadership Award from the Cobb Country Branch of the NAACP, Marietta, Georgia.
